We offer delicious certified organic peaches, plums and apples in
season from July to October. We offer several varieties of peaches
and plums, and the following apple varieties:
Redfree (ripens in mid-late August) - Creamy, firm, white flesh that
has a sweet, mildly acidic flavor. Good for eating, pies and excellent
for drying. Stores for 6-8 weeks.
Freedom (ripens early September) - A cross between a Macoun and an
Antonovka. The flesh is juicy and sprightly subacid. It is good to
eat fresh and for sauce and juice. Stores refrigerated until January.
Liberty (ripens late September) - A superior dessert quality apple similar
to Macoun. The flesh is very white, crisp, juicy, and tender. The flavor
is tart/sweet, somewhat perfumed, and improves in storage. Good for eating,
cooking and storage.
Enterprise (ripens early October) - Flesh is cream-colored, firm and crisp
with a spicy flavor that is very good at harvest but mellows and improves
after storage. Fruit retains its quality for up to 6 months in cold storage.
Last year we planted many new varieties of apples including Hubbardston
Nonesuch, Cox’s Orange Pippin, Roxbury Russet, Goldrush and Pristine. We hope
these will be available in limited quantity in 2014. Watch for updates!
